This day tour takes your to visit the typical pagoda of Buddhism of Vietnam. Tay Phuong pagoda, built in the 17th century, used to be a typical and remarkable religious architecture of Vietnamese art. This is also featured by rare masterpieces of religious sculpture includes sculpture, reliefs and statues, very sophisticated created under the hands of talented craftsman. Thay Pagoda is also an old and typical for religious of Vietnam, consists of three sections: the outer part for offerings and ceremonies, the middle part for worship of Buddha and the inner part for worship of the monk Tu Dao Hanh, the master after whom the pagoda is named.
You also have time stop over to Van Phuc silk village, renowned over centuries for its silk products, you have chance to learn about silk making process and shop for finest silk products in Van Phuc village.
ITINERARY
Thay Pagoda – Tay Phuong Pagoday – Van Phuc Silk Village
Morning meet at your hotel, depart for our day tour to learn about history of Buddhism to go along the beautiful villages and green fields to come to Thay pagoda (Master’s pagoda). Thay pagoda and Tay Phuong pagoda are two of the oldest pagodas of Vietnam. Thay Pagoda is widely known for its finely carved statues in lacquer and gold of Buddha. The pagoda itself dates back to the 17th century and is also admired for its impressive collection of Buddhist wooden statues. Take the steep steps up to the main pagoda building, then find a path at the back that loops down past the other two pagodas so that you may wander through the adjacent hillside village.
Continue to move on to Tay Phuong pagoda where you will find many Buddhist statues in a very special way of lives. Each of the statue show a symbol of life, you will learn about Vietnam traditional architecture style, Vietnam Buddhism religion & daily life of local people.
Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon, drive back to visit Van Phuc silk village, you will find very interesting coming here with many colourful clothes, hats, bags, tie… made of authentic silk. Visit the silk producing workshop, learn about silk making process and shop for finest silk products in Van Phuc village.
Tour ends at your hotel around 15.30.
